The weather here is a combination of bright sunny days tempered by gentle bay breezes. In the spring and fall, the days are pleasantly warm, while the evenings can be a bit cooler. The summer months are characterized by warmer temperatures and quick afternoon showers. The average annual temperature at MacDill is a comfortable 72 degrees.

Swimming PoolsHarbor Bay has a beautiful, resort-style pool open to residents and their guests. The pool is located at the Welcome Center and is open March through November, and sometimes longer, depending on the weather. A second pool, open to all of MacDill is located near the Shoppette and is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. At this location, swimming classes are available for infants through adults and aquatic exercise classes are offered several times a week.

School Information
The
Hillsborough County School District is the 8th largest in the United States. Each school has a designated attendance area and your address determines which school the student will attend.

For families who live on base, children attend Tinker Elementary School (K-5th).
On-base housing middle-school children are bused off-base to Monroe Middle School (6th-8th grade).
On-base housing high school children (9th-12th) are bused off-base to Robinson High School.
The School Liaison Officer is available to assist families with issues or questions concerning schools in the Tampa Bay area for your school-aged children.
